  seriously, half day in (already had an argument with the wife this morning about individuality in the organization in which she conceded that a lot of it is based on looks) and this is already getting on my nerves.

  i'll post a rebuttal based on my annotations later in the week but one thing i got to get off my mind: saying the feminist movement (women going to work instead of staying home) and the diversity laws (allowing for homosexuality - but also religious freedom, racial discrimination etc.

  ) caused a lot of the problems in our world right from the stage.. there are less people here than last year - about 500 less..

  If you are so enamoured with Jesus and want to be with him so bad, can I suggest taking steps to drastically shorten your life on earth so you can be with him a damn sight sooner?

  Just stating the frickin obvious that's all....

  Passing up any opportunity to DIE = lack of faith in Jesus wouldn't you say?

  Aloha, I'm new and in need of legal advice

  so i've been told there are a few people on her that could help me with this problem?.

  to cut a very long story short, i was raised a jw, i left the wt in january to be with my partner, a non-jw.

  i was marked for dating, even though i hadn't attended a meeting since december.

  H'mmm so much for keeping a low profile and taking it slow eh.

  Too far too fast i'm afraid. What DID you expect? 1 month of no meetings then you piss them off sufficiently to get MARKED (marking talk given to cong but you not named, but elders tell you in private meetings this is your status and the talk will be about you)... then you live with the guy for months and then decide to have a baby AND then to tell your mother (who then tells the elders)!

  Now you dont want them to DF you? Well i'm guessing it's a bit late to be thinking about that now isn't it?

  Not what you wanted to hear i gather, but just sayin it like it is. As for the legal cease and desist stuff then it's also too late as they have DF'd you.

  Overall NOT the way to leave WTS lala land unless you don't give a flying F**k about anyone.

  a SIMPLE answer re: 607 please

  i know it's a complicated topic, and i've spent gobs and gobs of hours studying it and realizing that 586/587 is the most likely date.

  so anyway, here's my question:.

  how could jerusalem's fall be 587 but still be in line with the scriptures about 70 years of desolation that the wto uses to push 607 so strongly?

  The question is this: 70 years of WHAT? Servitude or desolation? And applied to where, Jerusalem or to "all these nations". Read the prophecy again in Jeremiah (as that is who it was supposedly given to in the 1st place).

  607 "appears" valid only from a narrow forced application of the scriptures, but read from context and historical fact it cannot be correct.

  outsmart - you keep mentioning the imperfections of the elders....and how people need to overlook them because we are all imperfect and we need to learn what true humility is.....etc etc.

  dj - if this is what you believe to be true, then you are mistaken, because even though jehovah's witnesses are directed by holy spirit, we have at times 'gotten it wrong.

  dj - i can agree that jehovah's witnesses are god's mouthpiece today, that we do speak for god.

  i couldn't quite pinpoint why i would try when i know he wouldn't read it and we aren't even that close.. over the years, before i left, my father and i could not relate to each other and we quit trying.

  Go to the site / page you want to link.

  Copy (you KNOW how to do that?!?) the address from your browsers address bar http://www.thisismylinkpage.etc.ect

  ON JWN in the post a reply part find the T over a folder (top left 4th right from the scissors) then right click and paste the link into the text box, click insert.

  Now to make that text a LINK to the site you select the text (cursor far right, hold left button and drag left to select words)

  Once words are selected then the LINK option becomes available, the chain link icon becomes active, click on the link icon and paste (right click paste) the link into the link URL box, click insert.

  Sorry but this JWN interface is pretty poor and not very intuitive at all and i still struggle with it tbh. hint hover mouse pointer over icons to see what they do.

  Apologies if that's too dumbed down, to much time in the dumbed down JWs have had its effect.
